My latest for : Alberta has pushed animal agriculture further into the dark, as if ashamed, and pushed consumers further from the truth. This is not meat-loving culture; this is concealment culture. And that’s nothing to be proud of.

Farm animals are given NO water on their way to slaughter. Often for hundreds or thousands of miles. The Save Movement here provides a few moments of kindness and compassion before a horrible fate. 💔 Be their voice by choosing to leave animals off your plate.

There is truly no end to the coddling they demand: Protection from market competition Protection from changing consumer choice Protection from evolution of language Protection from investigative journalism And now, protection from critical editorials.

always finding ways to hide the truth. Truth is these kids are a smoke scream to the pigs in the barn who can’t see the light of day except in the day of their death.

I was inspired by a bus ad I’d seen recently, showing a farmer and his happy family playing in a field, with a big pig shed behind them, and a message about environmental protection. I mean ... where to even begin.

What’s wrong with this picture? For starters, children don’t play with kites near pig barns because they smell like feces and death.

Here in Manitoba, it took a year and a half to raise enough funds for a single billboard for two months, showing a real image of a pig in a transport truck, bound for slaughter in the province. This is so far from a fair fight. 6\

Anyone who says the animal rights & vegan movements spew lies & propaganda need only look at the lengths meat/ dairy/ egg industries go to to market their products to increasingly skeptical consumers. I wonder how much Manitoba Pork paid for this work, for all that ad space? 5/

This is exactly why, among other reasons, concerned citizens are taking it upon themselves to go have a look. Consumers can’t rely on the industry to be transparent. 4/

If this isn’t just the most obvious display of distraction, of hiding the truth, and ironically— of how to feed public mistrust even more. Show us the product. Show us that shed, who’s inside? What do kids with a kite have to do with pork? 3/

Animal meat should include a "sustainability charge" to cover its environmental damage, according to a new report. The proposed "fair pricing" would raise billions to help farmers and consumers produce and eat better food.

Chief animal welfare officers can do nothing about cruelty that is not prohibited by law. Still farmers like you continue to do it because it is legal. Legal doesn’t mean right, moral or ethical.
