Many people can't get their records expunged because of money and complexity — not eligibility. That's a problem, and it holds back people's careers and lives and hurts public safety.

One of the great virtues of the First Step Act is that people can now ask district courts for compassionate release w/o having to get BOP to file the motion (which BOP almost always refused). Hope to see many more of these motions granted as a result.
