I found this via https://mises.org/wire/why-so-many-scholars-are-wrong-about-consumer-psychology … , surprisingly enough.

I get the thing about the house vs trip and how dollar value isn't real value BUT I still don't understand the bit about how someone who can easily afford to lose £100 won't take a 50-50 bet where whey can win £110? How is this explained without loss aversion?
-
You’ll have to read the full study for the full answer. But I believe your example is odd, why would anyone take such a bet? The upside is terrible?

I wonder how Pecking Order influences Loss Aversion. Do we choose our aversions mimetically?

No idea what you mean? (Love the Pratchett quote)

Don’t believe everything you read. Challenging the status quo is super important. But there is ample evidence that the neurophysiology around loss is profoundly motivating, and therefore influences cognition. Don’t forget the power of reward in your designs tho
-
I don’t. But invalidation is tells us more than validation no? Definitely following this through, but so far it looks like the confirming evidence is lacking. I wouldn’t say I’m convinced, but I’d also avoid basing anything on loss aversion right now.

Once i considered
@ole_b_peters work on ergodicity ergonomics, risk aversion became less about reproducibility/replicability, and more about the way the experiments are framed using false assumptions for how chance + decision making relate over time and between individuals.Hvala.
