So devastating. I think Chesa will have to answer for that as will the judge who agreed to the negotiated plea, as will the police who never contacted the parole officers in the first place. But the police unions etc have been calling for Chesa to resign/be recalled for months.

I worry that people are going to oversimplify the reality of his office here and think: either prosecute the hell out of crimes like suspicion of car theft OR do nothing, when in reality the DA has been operating more in the middle.
