That's why you've got guys going, "What *can* I do if I can't ask her for her number when she's working?" because they view any interaction as their one precious chance at this only socially acceptable form of vulnerable contact with another human. Pass that up?!

This is also where "friendzone" comes into play. Of course, they're not interested in being a woman's friend. You're not allowed to have warmth and love that isn't romantic. Any kind of non-romantic, non-horny love is GAY.

Don't lump almost half of the population together as a group of barely aware creeps. One gender is expected to make the first approach. That's unhealthy but it takes time to change it. They *can* understand but men are more extreme and more likely to engage in risky behaviour.

Idk as much about Canada, but this is VERY much a US thing. 100% of the touch, affection, and emotional vulnerability and support that a post-pubescent boy or man is "supposed" to get, according to the rules of mainstream society, is "supposed" to be from their partner.
