Remember in the trailer when C-3PO says "taking one last look at my friends" and you think it'll be one of those rare moments of reflection he has, presumably because everyone's about to split up for their respective parts of a dangerous mission

And even better, just like everything else in the film, it doesn’t even matter a little bit and is completely fixed in like 20 minutes!

I mean they wrung comic relief out of it which made it at least more intentional than a lot of other decisions, but imo having him talk in a scary sith droid voice and be Murder 3PO until his brain was restored would've been funnier

Poe is very clear that he WANTS that droid dead, and he still does by the time credits roll.

It’s such a cowardly movie. It wants to get all the drama of killing off beloved characters but it’s not willing to actually go through with it.

The fact that everyone in that movie was constantly unpleasant to each other in general was an undercovered bad part of that movie

That was the key thing I hated. More than the retcons, more than the crapping on the vastly superior Last Jedi, it was how mean-spirited and bored the cast were. Like, I know some on-set incidents and treatments played a part for some, but it looked like no one but Ian was happy

honestly disrespectful. C-3PO deserves to be loved. genuinely made me super upset to see that happen in the theater
