https://archive.thinkprogress.org/atlantic-jesse-singal-transgender-kids-54123639b640/ … Hey Jesse, why doesn't your article mention that one of the parents you interview is specifically part of a group that advocates against children being trans?

Geez, why would someones experience ever cause them to speak out on the issue? How dare they!

Her involvement in the group makes perfect sense based on her beliefs. But it's absolutely relevant to share. "Here is the mom of a child who thought they were trans" vs "Here is an activist on the issue of trans kids"

Medical conditions frequently produce related activism, particularly parental activism where the conditions affect children. The article doesn't suggest this one source is an unimpeachable source of truth. It reports on one story as she tells it.

Except transitioning or not transitioning is not just a medical issue, it's also a political and cultural one. Her affiliation with the group is absolutely relevant to interpreting her words

Guessing you've never read my words. Here, I'll help... you can interpret my words yourself. Going to the source is better than speculation. (Disclaimer; I don't actually care if internet strangers like me.) The person I care about is my kid. She likes me.https://4thwavenow.com/2017/11/24/a-careful-step-into-a-field-of-landmines/ …

bigfoot is just a man who made a choice Retweeted Jenny Cyphers
Jenny, I'm not interested in arguing about your beliefs. I'm arguing whether or not omitting your affiliation with the group was ethical. You yourself were upset they didn't mention it:https://twitter.com/Jennifer_star/status/1009270068218232832?s=19 …

Jenny Cyphers @Jennifer_starReplying to @briejnm @susanmcc99 and 6 othersDisappointed@Atlantic pulled mention of@4th_wavenow and my article. It was my lifeline in supporting my dysphoric teen. Parents need more information & deserve more thoughtful analysis of consequences not always readily shared by gender specialists.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
My affiliation with the group was that I found @4th_WaveNow via another homeschooling mom who was also concerned about medically transitioning minors. Then, the owner of 4th allowed me to write a piece about my experience. Scary. I know. Super unethical. Grab your fainting couch.

I think your concerns, as you yourself state them in the article, go beyond just trans kids. I think the group's concerns go beyond that. I think readers should have been presented that information to decide for themselves.

What are the concerns you think "go beyond" trans kids?
