Biden signs EO imposing more consequences on authorities in Belarus “for their ongoing assault against the democratic aspirations and human rights of the Belarusian people, transnational repression and abuse, affronts to international norms, and corruption,” per WH.
Biden imposes new sanctions targeting Belarus’s Olympic committee and companies and business leaders with ties to President Lukashenko.
Sanctions came on the one-year anniversary of Belarus’s widely condemned presidential election.
