Most of the memes of neoliberalism are falling apart. I heard someone saying unions are bad the other day. He hadn’t had a pay rise in 5 years.

That's exactly what grayling et al. want. Little people fighing amongst themselves and seeing something that can strengthen their position as http://evil.so they vilify train drivers for having a union that fights for good pay instead of doing something similar.
-
Nobody gets payrises. It shouldn’t be hard to organise resistance. The system does not work for over 99% of people.

A movement of losers would cover over 62m Brits. It would be unstoppable

Adam Smith said monopolies were destructive and the Tories set up monopolies to make money at the expense of users. The rail system is a series of monopolies, water companies are local monopolies and utilities have expanded are now shrinking back to monopolies. Dumb Tories.

They sold almost everything to their mates.

Any service that has been privatized is without exception an utter failure. The only people who benefit are the ones with control of the purse strings and they don’t give a fuck about you me or anyone else. Come on

Privatization is an unmitigated disaster for everyone, except the investors raking in millions on people's suffering.

"So thats £3.5Billion for us and terrible service for you". £3.5 billion that could have gone to the NHS, homelessness, the disadvantaged instead of rich corporations... It just makes me sad.

They're mostly subsidized by the tax payer too. Socialised costs with privatised profits. Imagine taking a public asset, privatising it and then selling that service back to the public for X times profit and calling that sham efficiencys.

For the love of mercy....who always comes first in a private company??? And where in the pecking order, pray, does the lowly customer sit? Yes, at the bottom with all the fat cats sitting upon them! And yes, doing unspeakable things to them whilst extracting their cash, leering!!

And check out the disastrous privatisation of the probation service well wherever you can find it reported which is very little after bailouts and contract being taken back cost to public purse millions not to mention the imeasurable cost of loss of life

I'd have less of an argument if they weren't subsidised. If we must have privatisation it has to pay for itself. Otherwise it's just another tory scam to put public money in private hands.

£3.5 bn over 10 yrs is not exactly "huge profits" is it? Has Labour any specific policy pledges on reducing overcrowding, capping/cutting rail fares & making our railways more efficient - real promises on outcomes - beyond just saying nationalise it?

Perhaps some of those billions could be be invested?pic.twitter.com/Mo2YJqr3JB
