While we’re glad that access to mifepristone remains for now, judges should never have been deciding the fate of medication abortion. This is not over, but we’ll be fighting alongside you, every step of the way.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court just issued a stay in the medication abortion case, which means that access to mifepristone remains for now. This is good news, but the facts remain the same: Access to mifepristone should never have been in jeopardy in the first place. twitter.com/mjs_DC/status/…

SCOTUS stay of mifepristone ruling means that the FDA’s current approvals remain in place at least until Wednesday. Mife is safe and effective. This case shouldn’t be in the courts at all.

Denying people the ability to make decisions about their own reproductive healthcare is cruel. The chaos and confusion inflicted on the public by these court rulings is intentional. (4/4)

Make no mistake – these court rulings attempting to roll back the FDA’s approval of mifepristone have no basis in facts or in medicine. They are part of an extreme agenda to ban abortion nationwide. (3/4)

Everyone deserves the freedom and power to make the reproductive health decisions that are right for them. Medication abortion allows people to exercise agency over their reproductive lives and futures, and it is highly safe and effective. (2/4)

We are still reviewing the Fifth Circuit’s ruling on medication abortion and what it may mean for patients and providers on the California Central Coast. Medication abortion is still safe, legal, and available at all six of our health centers. (1/4)

For those asking such rational questions as — don’t they want to prevent unintended pregnancies? Don’t they believe that families should be able to prevent devastating outcomes like maternal death and infertility? Allow me to let you in on the truth: The cruelty is the point.

BREAKING: Today, in an unprecedented and harmful decision, a federal judge in Texas ruled that the FDA’s approval of mifepristone — one of the two medications used in the most common medication abortion regimen in the US — was unlawful, threatening access nationwide.

Each patient who comes through our doors is the expert decision maker in their own life. Patients, not judges and politicians, should hold the power to make decisions that are best for them, their families, and their futures.

To be clear, medication abortion remains legal and accessible here in California. Planned Parenthood California Central Coast will continue providing a full range of reproductive health services to our patients, including medication abortion, at all 6 of our health centers.

Today’s decision challenging the FDA’s approval of mifepristone is another politically motivated attack on abortion in this country. It was orchestrated and funded by extreme anti-abortion actors, and it flies in the face of more than 23 years of scientific evidence.

Today’s decision challenging the FDA's decades-long approval of mifepristone exposes how far anti-abortion activists will go to further restrict abortion nationwide. We should be enraged that approval of a safe and effective abortion method could be overruled by ONE judge.

I have reinstalled Twitter to respond to this story and make sure my voice is fully heard. I am Casey. My real name is Alex but my mom decided it would be best to hide it for anonymity. But this is my story, not hers. This is not the free press’s story. twitter.com/bariweiss/stat…

Abortion and medical transition clearly are healthcare, in that they provide better physical and mental health outcomes. But the opposition to them isn’t about medicine; it’s about stopping the projects of self-determination and equality that threaten gender hierarchy.

As a parent of two, I dream of a nation where parents don't have to send their children to school, frightened about the possibility they won't be there at pickup. Like many moms, we demand action to #EndGunViolence.

Our hearts are with the victims and survivors, their loved ones, and all those impacted by yet another horrific act of gun violence at an American school. Adults are failing children by allowing this scourge to continue.

Just got out of the Amarillo courthouse: Kacsmaryk appeared to seriously entertain claims that mifepristone is unsafe — and asked plaintiffs for guidance on whether his court could order the FDA to withdraw approval. Wow. Story with @PerryStein @amarimow washingtonpost.com/national-secur
This is an important reminder about where bills seeking to ban gender-affirming care for #trans youth are coming from They’re from radical conservatives and those with religious objections to #LGBTQ people existing All major medical orgs oppose the bills

This is a public health crisis, full stop. These stories are just the tip of the iceberg. Abortion bans are putting real lives at risk. Thank you to these five brave women for using their powerful stories to fight. We stand with them.

What kind of a government wages a war on vulnerable children and their parents? This is terrifying.
Quote Tweet
People need to understand how serious SB254 is. The bill could allow for removal of custody of a child if a sibling or a parent receives or is "at risk of" gender affirming care not just the child themselves. This gives courts the ability to strip children from trans parents…

cw: pregnancy loss I live in Alabama, a state with a total abortion ban, and was so overjoyed when I found out I was pregnant last month. I’ve been doing everything right. Stopped caffeine, took my prenatal vitamins, followed every rec. But I started bleeding on Tuesday.🧵

Remember when we were told they weren't opposing the teaching of Black history, just "CRT"? And how many dismissed those of us who said these laws were anti-history laws, and anti-Black? Perhaps one day folks will listen to those who know.
