Angry words had with XR protestors at Shadwell station this morning. They’ve glued themselves to a DLR train. #ExtinctionRebellion
Conversation
I’m confused, I thought they wanted people to use public transport and not use private cars.

Absolute idiots. Targeting the most energy efficient form of transport proves this isn't about the environment. They have a problem with the lower classes. Malthusians.

I sympathise completely with the commuters. Thankfully the DLR is now only operating with minor delays, but these people need to GET OFF THE TRAIN and let everyone get to work.

Until now the presence of police officers has protected the protesters from the reactions of a very tolerant public. ER is reaping what it sowed, the disrupted protesting against the unaccountable power of the disrupter.

They don't want us to fly or drive or take the train or, presumably, get to work or use gas. Basically they want us bring the end of the world as we know it forward a couple of centuries.

Train has got to be better to the environment than everyone travelling in cars. So they are now protesting at forms of travel that are actually helping reduce pollution !!!

They don’t want to help in the fight against climate change, this is a political movement (like identity politics) to overthrow the capitalist economic & political system. It is neo-Marxism, they are angling for a revolution.
