"Every tribe" did *not* have such. Some had complex ceremonies or tests of loyalty. Others had nothing more than "give me your daughter for my son" or a shared meal. And some had nothing. My point was there certainly was no formal ritual in biblical times. 1/

Any 'conversion' was likely governed by the common laws of the Near East. Wife becomes part of husband's family, reverts back to her father's family upon divorce or death of husband unless she had children with her husband. Whether the families both worshiped God wasn't important
