It's not just foolish - it's sexist. Why does every *businessman* get serious consideration when they talk about running for president, but Oprah, a *businesswoman* who parlayed a news anchor/television career into a empire, get made fun of?

Given where we are, it’s foolish to dismiss anybody.

I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. Being an effective president requires more than being an inspiring figure. It requires being a bureaucrat with an understanding of government, history and the constitution. 2017 taught us that...

What I want is a smart bookish global thinking government savant and scholar with legislative or executive experience currently quietly getting things done in a State House somewhere.

It's not a question of what the people WANT. In the case of Trump, they wanted to be entertained. How has that worked out so far? The news media's job is to help people, through good info, make better decisions in their lives. Qualifications and experience matter in a president.

No more TV personalities please. No more millionaires. Can we just get someone bland but strong with the right values who is stable and, like, really smart? And who won't need a refresher course in civics. How about someone with working knowledge of the separation of powers.

That sounds like me. I’ve made videos and mailed politicians because I would like to run. Not a billionaire, not a spoiled liar like tRump.
