For me, disgust with Bloomberg has nothing to do with “wokeness” but everything to do with Bloomberg straight up trying to buy his way onto the Democratic ticket. He and Trump are two sides of the same problem - they are illustrative of everything wrong with American politics.

Pushing forward Bloomberg, a finance mogul, as a response to a backlash which was, in large part, a reaction to the 2008 financial crisis, is an indication how much of a denial the Democratic leadership is about what has been happening.
