I think Palin was the beginning of the end for the republicans. Not because she is female either. Poor John McCain did not deserve her. In a way, it invalidated his legitimacy as a candidate.....
It was the end because the GOP didn’t ask questions. They’ve become so superficial

The GOP will cheat at elections to stay in power. And they may continue to hold the SC, Congress, and the WH.

The GOP fears oligarchs. Fox is the propaganda machine of the oligarchy. Members of the GOP are either members of the oligarchy that's taking over our Democratic Republic, or they're afraid of being primaried by the same. 60 years in the making. Palin was the 1st display window.

GOP validation of racist Tea Party was the beginning of the end. Palin was a figurehead. GOP opened their arms to this madness.
Palin was the embodiment of the nascent Tea Party that rose in the GOP. Moderate Republicans knew it would destroy the party. Some of them left (or were primaried); others embraced the madness that was the politics of hate.
