Take it from me, you don't want to follow Mass. NH, maybe, but not Mass.

At funerals, it's both weird and rude. On happy occasions, however, it's perfectly fine.

I despise Donald Trump for his views, and his potty mouth makes him more despicable. I despite Rashida Tlaib for her views, and her potty mouth makes her more despicable. And in neither case could I care less about the person's religion or gender.

Principled conservatives like Ronald Reagan were pro-immigration and anti-welfare. But Trumpified "conservatives" like and champion welfare in order to attack and demonize immigrants. The Gipper must be spinning in his grave.

After nearly 200 yrs of serving roast beef & Indian pudding with a side of attitude, Boston's Durgin-Park is closing — killed, in part, by a hike in the . Its waitresses now face a brute fact that liberals ignore: The REAL minimum wage is $0.

2019 is the International Year of the Periodic Table. So it's time to rectify a chemical injustice: Not a single element begins with a J or has a J in its symbol. Just what do scientists have against the initial J, anyway? Sincerely, Jeff Jacoby

Yeah, and therefore what? is Congress better in 2019 than it was in 1989? More thoughtful? More effective? More admired? In fact, it is worse by just about every conceivable measure. Electing lots of Democratic women to Congress appears to have improved . . . nothing.

Every time you lock the doors of your house to keep your family safe from intruders, immigration hardliners say, you make the case for Trump's border wall. It's a seductive analogy. It's also completely misguided. Here's my new column:

This is legitimately the most insane Twitter suspension I have ever heard of. My business partner, , was just suspended for 12 hours for this tweet. Why? Because it was supposedly "promoting or encouraging self-harm." IT'S A JOKE ABOUT BRUSSELS SPROUTS. WTF

Judaism has been around for 3000 years or so. The supposedly humane standard you mention has been around for, what, 25 years? If we blew with every passing breeze as you want us to, we would soon be gone just like all these passing fashions in which you place so much faith.

Israel shares borders with sworn enemies pledged to its annihilation — enemies who deploy terrorists and fire rockets in their attempt to murder as many as Jews as possible. The United States shares borders with Mexico and Canada.

First time I’ve seen this on a potential candidate’s website: Warren, who just launched an exploratory committee for president, has a page dedicated to site visitors not behind her and asks them to tell her why.

I'm old enough to remember when *Democratic* presidents — even one who scoffed at Americans' "inordinate fear of Communism" — didn't think the USSR was right to invade Afghanistan.

Those who knew the most about the Soviet empire didn't foresee its collapse. Economists routinely fail to detect looming recessions. When experts make predictions, they tend to be smart, persuasive, credible — and wrong. My latest:

Would you care about Ronil Singh's bereaved family if he had been murdered by a US-born citizen? Or is it only the relatively rare case of a murder committed by an illegal immigrant that awakens your interest?

As a Swedish Jew who keeps kosher, I buy all my meats over the internet, from a Belgian food supplier called Kosher4U. Kosher slaughter is already banned in Sweden and now, Belgium follows suit. A dark time for European Jews, once again. via
