    Proud that UFC’s program is mentioned here as the standard. The key here is not to ignore the low level findings, but to increase testing on that athlete and conduct a thorough investigation.

    Right move by FL Commission. They took a close look at the science behind THC excretion and saw it has little to no correlation to being impaired. Hopefully other commissions will follow FL’s lead and the recommendation of ABC Medical Committee.

    Per Florida has just removed marijuana from its Prohibited list. Good decision I hope is adopted elsewhere.

    . The takeaway here is that current testing method for marijuana (THC urine levels > 150 ng/ml) is not good science. Does not necessarily correlate with impairment, which is all we should be concerned about for marijuana in a in-competition setting.

    It is a excellent tool that can be used to detect the use of new "designer" drugs and drugs that have fast clearance times. We have used the "biological passport" program on UFC athletes since the inception of our anti-doping program in 2015.

    In addition to screening for specific prohibited substances, the "biological passport" is a mathematical model used to analyze the results for each urine and blood sample to determine if the results fit in line with what is expected of that athlete.
