So it wasn't that I decided that I needed more incentives to think in 140 characters, but its prevalence is making me try it out anyway.

We’re likely to see outbreaks in the U.S. involving secondary spread among people who don’t have direct connection to China. But small outbreaks need not become large outbreaks; and we still have a capacity and window to prevent epidemic spread in America.

What's worse: The printer not working at the meeting where people promise that they will freeze your dead body so you can be revived later? The technology breaking at the election where candidates are promising national control over more of the economy?

Recent TSLA price action reminds me of the Porsche/Volkswagen shenanigans. There doesn't seem to be a takeover dynamic driving the short squeeze here, but the thing about short squeezes is that they can go further than most people think.

People talk a lot about deaths, but how many lives has nCoV saved so far? The traffic fatality rate must be significantly lower in numerous Asian cities as those afraid of the virus stay home.

After UN agency blocked critics of its Taiwan policy on Twitter (and after my article, the first to cover the issue), now the State Department has weighed in: "ICAO’s Outrageous Practice of Blocking Twitter Users Who Reference Taiwan."

The discussion I have seen about "Surely they will find someone to unite under in order to oppose Sanders" reminds me of the bear case on Trump getting the GOP nomination in 2016.

I like how the term blowout means something totally different for babies and for adults. At least, I hope they mean something different - I've never actually been to one of those salons.

If someone defrauds people in one industry and then becomes a thought leader to people in another industry - does it reflect badly on the people who treat the person like a thought leader?

When choosing between 100% ownership of nothing and 0% ownership of a lot, the incentives somehow lead corporate bureaucrats to make the wrong choice every time.

Lieber’s three-year Thousand Talents contract, WUT paid Lieber $50,000 USD per month, living expenses of up to 1,000,000 Chinese Yuan (approximately $158,000 USD at the time) and awarded him more than $1.5 million to establish a research lab at WUT. 😱

One aspect that makes podcasts appealing is the ability to listen to an audio track at a customized speed. Podcast hosting websites that play audio but offer only one speed to web listeners are missing out on a huge portion of their market.

One way to fix sensationalized science reporting might be to commit to doing 1, 2, 3 and five year followups on every sensationalized headline. “When we last visited this approach, it seemed to be working in ten mice...”
