Fair, but these things typically come in at $1000 or more. Steam Deck is heavily subsidized by Valve. And the ROG Ally has a similarly equipped model with more power for about $50 more. That is aggressive -- although, I agree > $500 is still tough for most people reading this.

I would argue the ROG ALLY coming in above that $400-500 price point means it’s specifically targeting enthusiasts, whereas the Steam Deck is far more consolized and cheaper, targeting the masses. They may just know their demographic.

Hahaha. Props to the violinist at 0:38 who just looks at his buddy with a look like, “Dude, we’re playing Star Wars and John Williams is conducting us!”

Listening to Game Mess this afternoon and as @_janjerome and @JeffGrubb were mentioning alien Jedi I exclaimed Kit Fisto and my boys did not let me down saying the exact same thing, let’s manifest a Kit Fisto game

A gaming handheld with a 1080p screen is a mistake. I suppose you can argue you need it because it's Windows, but those UI elements are going to be super small and unusable at 1080p on a sub-8-inch screen, too.

I know there are no benchmarks yet, but I suspect bc they increased the res from 800p to 1080p, that even tho it is APU is more powerful than the deck, it'll be a wash bc it needs to drive more pixels. They could've stuck with 800p and straight up say its more powerful

Comes with 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate, Windows 11 pre-installed, and a really aggressive price. MS is also working on a handheld fork of Windows. Seems like this is the new handheld gaming strategy for Microsoft, and it is definitely better than "you have a phone, don'tcha?"

Wrapped up a 3-month analysis project on the usefulness of openai/chatgpt. Came up with about 50 tasks, ranging from coding in multiple languages, writing a guide on said coding projects, then finally writing an article on the state of these projects. It is doo doo and pee pee.
