Sadly, our country must again struggle with the ‘why’ of two more senseless mass shootings of innocent people. Legislatively, we can find common ground to improve threat assessment and prevention, and tackle the mental health issues behind much of this violence. (1/3)

We must also acknowledge that a violent society begins with brokenness and disregard for innocent life. (2/3)

My heart also goes out in a special way to Dee Margo, Mayor of El Paso. Mayor Margo and I met last week in El Paso to discuss border issues. He’s a dedicated public servant with a big heart who loves his community. (3/3)

Mental health issues are in every country in the world. Gun violence and mass shootings are not. I agree with addressing mental health, but common sense gun laws are the issue. Respectfully Congressman, you can help. It’s your choice. #ThisIsOurLane

White supremacist terrorism is what you meant to say. Your President stood on stage and laughed when someone in the crowd said “shoot them.” Was that merely a missed opportunity or was it a stamp of approval? Ask yourself why that’s a valid question.

We know why. The killer wrote a manifesto of Trump talking points and your party is actively obstructing legislation to prevent future killings.

I recall Jeff using "radical Islamic terrorism" proudly, but he's afraid to call out white nationalist terrorism because he might lose his white nationalist voters.

Sadly Nebraska must again struggle with why our elected representatives allow these massacres to continue. One guy attempts shoe bomb on a plane and entire country brings qt bags to airport and removes shoes. People die by gun daily and answer is gun laws don’t work. #FlipNEBlue

No, we know "the 'why'". It's white nationalism. They said it. Easy access to guns is why it happens here and no where else.

Or it could be all the automatic weapons. And why don't we see women slaughering people; I presume women also have mental health issues? IT's the guns. THE GUNS.
