It’s worse than that, I think. It’s the weaponization of privilege. It’s dehumanizing someone to punish them for some minor incursion.
Personally, I feel a bit like it's a point of control. I believe many who say this feel they can spark some behavioral change by threatening to take away advocacy. I'm sure there's at least a nonzero amount of paternalism involved as well.

Absolutely. I agree 100%. And it’s all premised on the “ally” being inherently superior and the other person’s humanity being contingent.
