American children are separated from their parents when the parents commit a crime. Illegal immigrants need to be aware that U.S. laws will apply to them if they come across our borders. Your feelings don't overrule our laws. #LiberalHypocrisy

The parents are seeking asylum (not a crime). When US citizens commit a crime, they're children can be left with a friend, another parent or relative. The parents know where their children are and when and under what conditions they can get them back.

US children are not kept in fenced in rooms, given aluminum blankets, slepping in tents in 100 degree weather, prevented from receiving hugs and affection. Killing me with the false equivalencies.

Have you not gotten the memo that those photos were taken under Obama's term(s)? If you don't want to suffer the consequences, don't cross the border illegally with your children in tow.

I've seen this picture used several places today in this debate; it's a lie; it has nothing to do with this policy. Why are you lying?

Why do you find it acceptable for U.S. parents who are guilty of a crime to be separated from their children, but not illegal immigrants?

First, if people go to prison, after a trial, they are separated from their kids because THEY ARE IN PRISON. Their kids can be with the other parent, the grandparents, aunts, uncles. Whomever the parent choses. The parent KNOWS WHERE THE KIDS ARE AND WHO IS TAKING CARE OF THEM.

If you commit a crime (say, crossing a border illegally), you've already made the decision to gamble that you're going to lose your children. Consequences.

Seeking asylum is NOT a crime. These children are taken from their parents BEFORE anyone is charged with anything. Woman was CLEARED in CA seeking asylum, they processed her case and her child had been shipped to CHICAGO. WTAF?

Here's interim solution: 1. Put the onus of responsibility where it belongs--on the illegal parents putting their kids in this predicament! Tell them turn around and come in legally. What kind of parent willingly does this?
