I was also wondering today, what were those Republicans thinking as they sat there listening to that rambling mess at the podium? Were they proud? What about when he used the word “bullshit”. Did they even cringe?

For our country to heal, we must show love to others, including those we perceive to be our enemies. Listen and try to understand. Challenge them. Disagree with them. Hold them accountable. But do not hate them.

Congratulations to Bill Barr for sitting there yukking it up while the president spreads smears and lies about career FBI officials and attacks one of the most decorated prosecutors in DOJ history. Coward.

From an email from Central Europe: “It is incredible for me, who grew up in a communist country, to listen to Republicans speak of Trump in an almost identical fashion to how communists spoke in the 1980s. The lies, demagoguery, straw-man arguments, ad hominem attacks…ugh…”

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.” - Atticus Finch To Kill A Mockingbird Harper Lee

. is absolutely right: for all the deserved encomiums Mitt Romney is getting tonight for daring to vote Trump guilty for abusing his office, the most courageous man in the United States Senate today was Alabama Senator .

Romney is rich. He's a Senator from UTAH; he will get re-elected without help from the Cult of Trump. For both of those reasons, Trump can't touch him. ignored much greater political risks to do what is right. History will remember.

There will be moments in time where we experience incredible disappointment. Today will be one of those days. But the greatest disappointment of all will be if we give up the fight. We must never give up fighting for our country.

My 7 year old was tapping away on my Mac tonight and told me he was writing a book. I think you’ll agree it’s one hell of an opening.

I genuinely don't understand the conspiracy theories about Iowa. If this was a DNC scheme to boost moderates, why would they delay the initial vote showing a Buttiegieg lead? If they rigged it, why would Biden be a distant fourth? Also, uh, the DNC doesn't run the caucuses.

REMINDER..... Democrats, listen to me. Who cares if the eventual nominee only meets 80 percent — heck, 50.1 percent — of your checklist? Evicting Trump should be the most important item on that checklist.

Pay no mind to the cowards; the unprincipled hypocrites who decided keeping their job was more important than doing their job; the emasculated sellouts prostrating themselves to a fake hero. History will remember this moment - and you, - correctly.

It is hard to do the right thing - and even to keep sight of what the right thing is — when your system, group, and career incentives push you towards doing the wrong thing. Mitt Romney - and Justin Amash - deserve a lot of respect for doing the right thing when it was hard.

Romney will surely anger Trump. But in many ways it is the hypocrisy of colleagues like Collins and Murkowski and Alexander he exposes most.
