Judge Barrett's appointment threatens the ACA and access to health care for more than 572k Granite Staters with pre-existing conditions. She opposes women's reproductive freedoms, refused to commit to upholding LGBTQ+ rights, and questioned the constitutionality of Medicare.
When Judge Barrett was nominated, Americans were already voting. Now more than 60 million Americans have cast a ballot for the next President. They deserve a say in who will make this lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.
Granite Staters and millions more Americans are still struggling to pay the bills, find a job, and put food on the table. We should be working on a COVID-19 relief package to help them get through this crisis - not forcing through partisan judicial nominees.
Republicans are ignoring the pandemic and playing politics with the Supreme Court. If they succeed, it will have a profound impact on civil and voting rights, on health care, and on our democracy for years to come. It's wrong, and I am opposing Judge Barrett's nomination.
