Mitch McConnell has finally released a COVID-19 bill, but it doesn’t solve the real challenges Granite Staters are facing as they try to get through this crisis. Here’s what’s in the bill, and what isn’t (THREAD):

It has giveaways for major banks, but it doesn’t include housing and eviction protections for homeowners and renters.

It puts pressure on our schools to reopen if they want to receive federal money, but it doesn’t invest in a national testing and tracing strategy to make sure they can do it safely.

It has plenty for other partisan boondoggles, but it has nothing for state and local governments that are struggling to keep first responders on the payroll as they battle the virus.

If this bill came to the floor today, I would vote No. It’s time to stop the partisan grandstanding and come to the table and have a real bipartisan negotiation. The American people can’t afford to wait any longer.

I spoke with
@wkxlnhchris this morning about my stance on the bill, which you can listen to below. We need real relief for the Granite State, and this bill doesn't do the job.https://soundcloud.com/wkxl/nh-now-jeanne-shaheen-7-28-20 …Afficher cette discussion
