Uhm... you don't have any other computer? Maybe that's one of your problems as well, you need to setup a UEFI bootable USB drive with an up to date distro and then try to install it in that laptop. Just try to find the way, ask a friend or something. Use YUMI or Etcher.

Going to save & get a REAL Linux system, that will take some time, nearly a year to save for it...

Well, that's your call, I can't upgrade hardware too often and I must put up with what I already have. I am happy with my dual boot laptop. I barely use Windows if ever. If you can afford it, maybe a native linux laptop such as @system76 would do for you.
