Now YouTube wants to make our custom thumbnails irrelevant? I swear to god that @TeamYouTube is literally seeing how fast they can make creators leave their platform. I urge EVERYONE to voice your opinion on this matter. Make sure to tag them. Flood themhttps://twitter.com/teamyoutube/status/1012160856690450432 …

The worst part is
@TeamYouTube will screw with us WITHOUT TELLING US! You’re playing with fire YouTube, and when we all jump ship to your inevitable replacement and you file for chapter 7, don’t scratch your head. You were warned29 replies 25 retweets 467 likesShow this thread -

That alternative wont "build itself". Instead of whining at a social media PR account that clearly dont give a fuck. Move to a new platform already. BUILD A NEW HOME. Dont just sit in your fucking house while its on fire.

it is. You know what is also easy? Not doing anything. You're not the only creator disenfranchised. Yet all of you, from the smaller creators to PewDiePie, just try to ride out the storm while complaining against a company that doesnt care. We, the viewer, will follow you!!!

Trust me when the right platform appears I will definitely diversify.

But that platform WONT appear on its own. Why does all the alternatives we hear about die? BECAUSE IT DOESNT GET CREATORS. Youtube is the "default". Like Linus has said countless times "build it and they will come".

oh, wait. AdSense. We need a platform with ads. Money is the problem here. Can't be bothered uploading to a place that doesn't have integrated monetization.

I mean.... the business does have a bottom line to maintain. As noble as it sounds to upload for free, I run a business with employees who I have to pay. “Free” doesn’t pay those dividends
