Hi Jay, what is your take on the recall in China? Will this significantly slow down normal production at Shanghai giga?

The recall will only affect imported Tesla Model S/X also including mine, I personally don't mind this recall as I think it will improve my vehicle. This will not affect Giga Shanghai in any way. This will only temporary affect Tesla Service Center across China.

AIUI, having a vehicle registered outside Shanghai was a way to circumvent the license plate issuing restrictions. Now this loophole is being considerably narrowed -- thus providing more incentive to purchase EVs, which have no restrictions on issuing Shanghai plates...
