right now YouTube is taking away the verification badge from dozens if not hundreds of YouTube creators, some of which have millions of subscribers and have been making videos on YouTube for over 10 years pretty shitty for YouTube to do to the community

Please appeal so we can take a look! We know there's a lot to unpack w/ this change, but basically we're trying to fix the fact that our old system didn’t "verify” much except that a channel had 100k subs – we now want verification to ensure channel authenticity for viewers.

But 100k subs was a consistent and understandable threshold that means YouTube went through a verification process and that “brand” or individual is that person. Now there is no coherent standard or process, which YouTube stated was the biggest goal of this.
