You speak as if science is monolithic and unchanging. I don’t know why some children have life-threatening reactions to medications or vaccines. This is very rare but it happens. I must consider that reaction when considering that same medical intervention in a family memberhttps://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1144078238613942272 …

It is unethical to state that a child qualifies for an exemption to vaccines based on reasons not supported by science. Are you saying you'd support the Medical Board of California cracking down hard on docs issuing bogus exemptions? Because that's another potential solution. https://twitter.com/JayGordonMDFAAP/status/1144072054607511552 …

Perhaps Dr. Jay could show me the scientific evidence supporting his apparent view that a family history of autism or autoimmune disease increases the risk of vaccination sufficiently to make it contraindicated. I keep asking. He keeps failing.

Yeah, but the scientific method will *always* be more reliable than any non-scientific method. The likeliness of a conclusion derived from science being wrong vs. the likeliness of a conclusion based on gut feeling or religion being wrong are worlds apart.

Hey, @gorskon If Dr. Jay tries to say "natural" medicine is safe, he should consider the case of Steve Bechler, a young pro baseball player from my hometown of Medford, Oregon, who used an herb with no warnings on the label. He died at 23.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Bechler …

Except it’s not rare. If 1000 cases of measles is a massive outbreak, what is 1 in 30?
