I have no doubt that you're an excellent surgeon. But you don't know pediatrics. A medical exemption for family history of autoimmune dz meets the letter and spirit of California's vaccine laws. Doctors who advertise MEs and write them for kids they don't know...wrongheadedhttps://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1121249155198922752 …

And how about it, Dr. Jay? Have you written letters supporting medical exemptions based on scientifically unsupportable reasons like a family history of autoimmune disease? If so, you personally contributed to the problem that led @DrPanMD to act. 6/

Hi. New to the conversation. Are you advocating the writing of medical exemptions based on family history alone?

SB267 is after a handful of MDs willing to falsify MEs. The trust between patient & MD will be ruined. Frightening when a govt office admin gets to decide which MEs are legit.Think insurance claims adjusters who get to decide if your car accident injuries are valid. Same thing.

@gorskon how much do pharmaceutical companies pay you? Have you been on their payroll long? Genuinely just curious!!!

For future reference, you might find this database useful: https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/  Notice that @gorskon has none. I don't suspect him of hiding anything. And I'm the sort of guy who goes after undeclared conflicts of interest pretty vigorously.

And while I'm here--I'm not a physician, but from the perspective of a science journalist, I would not consider "strong support[] of an individualized vaccine schedule" to be "a balanced, moderate view regarding vaccines" or even a mainstream one.http://drjaygordon.com/

The irony of criticizing @gorskon for not "knowing peds" when you don't know neurology. Vaccines don't cause MS.
