You’re not alone. My two ‘favourites’: data is (data ARE - from latin datum that are always plural) and DRGs dorsal root ganglia/ganglion (abbreviation is the same for plural and singular ‘s’ not needed).

More nice examples! To be honest, the second example can be simply avoided by using DRG or DRGs.

You’re a stickler for correct word endings too, eh? We have the same problem in my field, in which people often say things like repichnia when they mean repichnion. It makes no friends to correct them, though!
