Heads up, Creators: On Dec 13-14 you may see a noticeable decrease in your sub count as we remove spam subscriptions. If spam is removed, you'll see a YouTube Studio alert: https://goo.gl/qGDBvX This should help give you confidence that the subs you do have are real fans!

What qualifies as spam subs? People who've never interacted with the platform other than to sub to people? If you haven't watched them in a loong time? You keep just saying things like you have technology that detects it, but won't say what it involves and what the criteria are.

I'm subbed to some people I haven't watched in a year or even years. But I still want to stay subbed to them.

Spam subs includes fake/artificial means of subscription. Often times this is the result of spam services that subscribe to a variety of channels. If you're subscribed to a channel and you haven't watched in a while, you'll still be subscribed. Hope this clarifies.
