Thank you so much. I have so many questions. Since the original version of Ulysses was cut so late, do you remember anything about how his character differed from the way he appeared in Lonesome Road or his companion quest?

It was a long time ago, so my memory is a bit hazy... There were definitely differences between NV Uly and LR Uly. Sadly I don't remember what those were. I don't think he was cut that late in development, though. Not a whole lot of work went into him yet at that point.

It has been a really long time. Interesting though. Were most of the major cuts early in development? I think I remember you mentioning the concept of a WW radio station voiced by the development team. Do you remember any other similar ideas or concepts that didn't make it in?

Oh, there's always stuff cut at every stage of development in every game. The WW Radio is what I'm the most familiar with since I designed it. A good chunk of locations were cut during production due to time constraints, but nothing along the crit path really.

Ah, good point. Ever since I heard you mention that, I've been sad WW Radio didn't make it in. Was it still in an early conceptual stage when it was cut, or had you already begun writting the dialogue? And if so to the latter, are there any memorable interactions you remember?

We did plan out some of the characters the devs would play. Larry Liberty, our lead producer for half of the project, would call in as "Captain Liberty". He was a hero of the Wasteland... well, in his opinion anyway. We were having a lot of fun thinking up zany characters.
