I mean, sure, safety matters (it's a factor here in Seattle too). But the idea this isn't *mostly* related to covid isn't true. So maybe this isn't totally a "Chesa problem"?

I recognize some of those storefronts. That one long one used to be a Walgreens

You think San Francisco is special and could avoid the Amazon/Online Scorched Retail-Earth Death Star???? Uh, no. The COVID45 (don't let Trump complain about him not getting something named after him) Pandemic just made it happen quicker in super sonic time of 15 months....

hmm.....waz the point? Is it because of a law and order (DA's gotta go regardless) problem or more of a B&M business model problem. Store fronts did not hold well in the pandemic for sure and we know it accelerated stuff.

Could this kind of de-urbanization be looked from more optimistic side, about people moving to places with better and more natural living conditions in other parts of the country or state? Can't really have change without some that are slow to change suffering in the process.

Amazing that Westwood actually looks to be in better shape than SF. Proof that our elected officials matter.

Are you worried we might be on the same path? Seems like we have city officials trying hard to make the same stupid decisions…
