I’ve been thinking about this a lot — founders don’t want to come to the bay anymore. They see what @chesaboudin & @LondonBreed have manifested for San Francisco and they are repelled by that dystopian vision This is the key issue of why San Francisco will fail: immigrationhttps://twitter.com/Jason/status/1341572001526255620 …

8/The great startup investors & the next generation of startup founders DO NOT WANT to come to San Francisco The founders only came here for the money/talent--they don't need to anymore! This means Miami, Austin, Reno, Utah, etc. are all going to have more unicorns

Unpopular opinion: SF/LA and CA in general will be trendy and red hot again by the end of 2023.

I started 2 companies in SF (1 public 1 private) which created numerous millionaires thru stock option plans, and paid millions in taxes. For that I was called a “labor exploiter” and even a “Proud Boy” by @MattHaneySF for creating a voter guide for moderates. Hello, Florida!

To be honest, we never WANTED to come. I left my wife and 4 kids in Pittsburgh to go through YC. My youngest, at the time, was 12 days old.

Well, a lot of talented entrepreneurs, bright minds don't want to immigrate to the US because of its archaic corporate servitude immigration laws. Did you and @chamath know if you are from India/China your green card wait is 150 yrs. There is a f*ing country cap on Green cards!

As an immigrant from India/China you are forever on the mercy of an H1-B visa sponsor, if there is a gap, out you go with your family back to a place you never knew as an adult. It would be wild if visionaries like @chamath and your gang sheds some light on this!
