Thinking about how Puerto Rico's struggle with climate change is so inextricably linked with its economic oppression. Vulture funds have been allowed to rob our Isla of its resources in part due to a loophole in NY law that allows bad actors to purchase debt then sue and profit.

the time has come in itβs 87 years to have a resident lead NYCHA into the future enough of these outsiders whoβve never lived in NYCHA. And while we are at it, the NYCHA board needs to be 7 NYCHA residents not the scheme of 4 non res and 3 res

Thereβs a #racist placement of power plants in NYC. I live by the Con Ed plant & my fam lives across from the #Ravenswood Power Plant. It isnβt an accident that these facilities are located in BIPOC communities, itβs by design. It stems from decades of racist policies. 3/5

Frontline communities in #NYC have historically borne the brunt of pollution & are usually #BIPOC . We see heat waves, extreme weather & poor air quality ravage through poor communities w/o a second look. The #fossilfuel is literally choking us to death with no regard. 2/5

Judge Cannataro, a relatively new Judge on the Court of Appeals, has been appointed acting Chief Judge. Judge Rivera, one of the longest serving judges on this Court is bypassed. This is utterly disrespectful to the Latino community. Looks like, again, Latinos need not apply.
