fun fact: the puppetry scene of the wizard hat was shot at 12 frames per second and sped up to 24 frames per second. So the audio reference playback was slowed down by 50% and sounded real creepy. watch the film and mint it now (for only 1 more day!) at premiere.wtf

The Secret of NIMH was the biggest infleunce for #TheWizardsHat . The small crew that worked on it got sent the same screen grabs over and over when asked how it should look (Dark but magical). I love this film and I think Don Bluth understood what made early Disney special.
