The charges were public ahead of the 2022 General Election. That didn’t prevent 1) the impugned Commissioner from continuing to run the Board including handling ballots; and 2) the county GOP and legislature reappointing the impugned commissioner to his post for 2023-24.

Let’s clarify that no 2020-era changes to the election law actually made it easier for “corrupt insider” crimes to occur. Commissioners have discretion over Board policy for handling ballots. Election Official Admits to Vote Scheme - ⁦

It’s really hard to keep track of everything that’s happening, on so many levels, in so many states, so many communities, all at the same time. But it’s all one big story: A multi-level reactionary counter-mobilization against egalitarian multiracial, pluralistic democracy.

. several bills in the package passed on a bipartisan basis. I imagine you had more to say than what was included here, but I disagree. If enacted in full, it will improve training, uniformity, pay, professionalism, conflicts, data and more.

Hi. It's me, kindly requesting that NY government agencies stop pulling this move. Just provide an email address for FOIL appeals! It's easier for everyone! Requesting a written appeal does nothing but deter appeals ... which is the point, I'm sure.

Sen. , There were never 10 Early Voting locations in the town of Brookhaven. But initially, Suffolk County attempted to deploy ONE early voting site for all of Brookhaven. It was absurd, and as a result, the law needed to be changed to increase access in Suffolk.

The needs to call on Santos to resign the office he won only through deceit. It’s not enough to disinvite him to future events. What he did to New York’s Jewish community (and the rest of CD3 residents) is patronizing, offensive, and disgusting.

This was a close contest. Every vote matters! 🗳️ ⚖️ “Over 123000 ballots were cast in the 2022 general election in the 50th State Senate District, and the margin separating the candidates after all ballots were canvassed by optical scanners was only 5l votes -less than 0.05%

Earlier versions of the Wrong Church fix bill made it effective for 2022, but certain powerful, unelected Albany officials deliberately delayed implementation until 2023 There was no justifiable basis (or pretext) offered for doing so. Here’s the impact:
This, at its heart, is what our decades-long quest to reimagine and redesign election administration is all about. Thank you!

Finding fewer excuses to throw out legit ballots is one more step on New York's journey from #WorstToFirst. Because whatever church you do (or don't) attend, our democracy is stronger when more voices are singing in the choir.
