like, the reason there are no competitors to Youtube is because nobody else is willing to shovel money into a pit for 10 years.

There IS competitors. One being D-Tube. And quite a few others. Vimeo, etc. YouTube is going down hill fast. It's becoming NC-17.

Their monetization has always been NC-17 in theory. Ad-based money is ALWAYS going to be for uncontroversial things.

It has NOT always been that way. LOL I've been around since the beginning of monetization.

That's why I said "in theory". This is the end of all advertiser-based monetization systems. The advertisers want to advertise on as wide a base as possible, with as little controversy as possible.

Which is ridiculous. The only REAL things to advertise on are Jimmy Fallon, DISNEY, etc. Not reality. EXCEPT little kid channels. It's...ridiculous.

Well, I've literally said before how their model (advertiser based) pushes the kind of content their users (teens young adults) hate, and punishes the content their users like the most. It's a terrible system, but it's been there literally the entire time, and this was inevitable

Itr hasn't been tehre the whole time. It has ONLY been "visible" (as you called it) when actions such as suicides, violence, racism (apparent), etc. When advertisers were like, "Nope! We have had enough!" Beofre, they didn't care. They were getting paid.

Youtube has always had these rules. They just didn't enforce them.

That,...is true. I will say that. Until advertisers were like,...."Well,...we are gonna pull out now." LOL

Right. And since Youtube's USERS love things that advertisers hate, it was only a matter of time until it happened.
