I’m also owed 2 months of ad revenue from @defymedia. I was told constantly that “payment will arrive by Friday.” Then they shut down. As a former managed partner, I can’t unlink my channel from them. I’ve made $0 on all content for the past 2 months. Including 2 sponsorships.https://twitter.com/shanedawson/status/1060349975492616192 …

I’m reaching out to
@TeamYouTube on behalf of all the former channels trapped by contracts with@defymedia that have messaged me over the past 24 hours looking for help. They owe us tens of thousands. Some people can’t even pay their rent due to broken promises. What can be done?19 replies 130 retweets 1,978 likesShow this thread -
Word on the street is that a bank seized their assets. I can’t confirm this but that’s what I’ve heard. Sucks for all employees working there and for all channels that were partnered through them who may see $0 for a few months of work.

Also I’d STRONGLY recommend that all creators who were partnered with
@defymedia download your analytics reports before they unlink you. That way you have written proof of your earnings. That option goes away once they remove your channel.6 replies 119 retweets 1,646 likesShow this thread -
I didn’t go public about this sooner because the
@defymedia contract is a hellscape of anxiety to navigate. It seems they had the legal right to shut down my channel for any reason if you read the fine print. Had to be very careful.14 replies 79 retweets 1,465 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @Chris_Stuckmann @defymedia
I hope you and the other creators affected by this are able to get it sorted soon. Not acceptable

@IanFortey Is one of their victims; a freelance comedy guy who is in a bad place cause of this; shoutouts his way would really help!
