this was the venerable karpathy char-rnn - 2 layers, 256 nodes. Tossed it a set of a few hundred messages. Took maybe 30 min.

As far as I can tell, the bot is pulling 4-char left and right hand phrases from separate lists. I’ve scraped some generators like that and am deciding if it’s best to train with 8-char entries or 4 and concatenate after. Probably 8-char but will need larger dataset.

agreed, 8 char or else the left hand will have no relationship to the right hand.

Will probably be weak correlation if I model the 4-char lists separately, one for each hand in specific, but a lot of the phrases don’t make too much sense if you chop them in half. So 8-char it is!
