There is an internationally viral story, repeated by lots of news sites, that Leonardo DiCaprio made a $10 million donation to Ukraine in part because his grandma is from there. DiCaprio didn't donate $10 million and has no family member from Ukraine, a source close to him says.

Happy 208th birthday to the Kobzar, Taras Shevchenko, who understood the darkness of the Russian empire and what it meant for Ukrainians long before any of us. He was born into serfdom, but his art is defined by his free spirit—an inspiration not only to Ukrainians but to all.

A worrying development outside Kharkiv: Russia’s Defense Ministry claims (without proof) that it tracked “Ukrainian nationalists” bringing in 80 tons of ammonia. Moscow says they’re preparing to frame Russia for a chemical weapons attack.

Watch this, world. Watch pregnant Ukrainian women with their faces covered in blood. Watch facilities for newborn babies destroyed. Watch dead bodies buried in a mass grave because of incessant bombardment of Mariupol. You enabled Putin for years, and it's the result 📷E. Maloletka

They're also saying this was announced by "International Visegrad Fund" but I don't see an announcement here: And no mention of Leo on their site from what google can tell.

Outlets are citing "Polish News" with claims that Leo donated $10mil to Ukraine, but this doesn't look like a real news website to me. There are no bylines, no author/about information, and it was only registered in 2020. Has anyone actually confirmed this with Leo's people?

Iasi airport in Romania absolutely packed with Ukrainian refugees taking flights to Bucharest, Dublin, Vienna, Warsaw. The only flight not full with Ukrainians is the one to London Luton, because they wouldn’t be allowed on without visas. Feels quite shameful as a Brit.

Elsewhere, there are some signs that humanitarian corridors are holding -- for now, with a local ceasefire. Some evacuees have left Sumy, and officials in Kyiv hope to evacuate people from Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel, per Reuters and the Guardian

Here’s a viral tweet with a video claiming to expose Ukrainian disinfo that had mislabeled a military vehicle as Russian. The video also spread widely on Telegram. But it’s nearly impossible to find an example of the supposed Ukrainian fake being shared anywhere.

Russia's "US bioweapons labs in Ukraine" claim isn't new. The same claim was spread by Moscow in relation to labs in Georgia years ago. Watch this report from 2018 to find out if the the Kremlin's claim was grounded in facts.

Could someone — but not all at once please — explain to me the material difference between supplying weapons like javelins, bayraktars, ammo vs a weapon like a plane? Aren't they both supplying arms? Is it that the planes have more capabilities?
