Script outlines are especially difficult, because you can't just listen to the characters and write it all down. You have to listen, and then summarize what they said. It's writing with an extra step.

You just perfectly articulated the struggle I'm going through right now with this outline.

It's a pain in the arse 😂 currently writing summaries for a pitch and realise how much I have to force myself vs the actual scripts.

You know how some people have a devil and an angel on their shoulders? I imagine you have a host of characters surrounding you at all times, telling you which lines to give them in your scripts.

I use outlines as a place to force plot and world build. It gives me a starting point in the script when I go from scene to scene. And I always, always, end up throwing it out once the characters begin making their own choices.
