I just heard about the forthcoming story outing the woman who created the Shitty Media Men list. I'm struggling to see the journalistic value in doing such a thing, let alone the ethical argument for putting a target on a woman's back for merely trying to protect other women.

Journalism should not operate merely at the whims of public demand or to protect its subjects. That said, perhaps the only folks who would welcome this woman's exposure are those who would seek to do her harm, physically or otherwise. I hope that pulls the story.

Nailed it. Our society is very sick. We have systematically removed Integrity from every aspect of life to pursue Prosperity instead. The System currently rewards bad behavior & destroys the pure. This causes purity to be seen as Loser Behavior, undermining all righteousness.

Same mentality as Swiftboaters and the MEN who protected Bush Jr. against Rather's reporting?

Nah. This is pure vindictiveness and victim shaming, along with a dash of frontier justice that we all know will happen. It's pretty fucked up.

What is the reason for "right to face the accuser", and when and where should it apply? #metoo and Shitty Media Men are noble in intention, but aren't there other values/laws we need to uphold in the pursuit of justice for all?

Right to face accuser applies in a court of law. There is no “right to dox & incite harassment of people for protecting women”.

She will get doxxed and then death threats. Anyone publishing her name is partially responsible for whatever happens to her.

But since the ones doing the publishing aren’t affected by the harassment they trigger, they get to sleep at night.

Who would see value in outing the list compiler? [Looks at names on list ...] Oh.
