As a general rule a nation doesn't erect statues to honor traitors who took up arms against the nation causing the death of 620,000 citizens

I guess that general rule does not apply to the South where they not only honor those who took up arms against the nation but who also led them to a well-deserved, resounding, humiliating defeat. If that ain't dumb, what is?

Writing a book is a record of history, erecting a statue is an act of celebration, honor, and a constant reminder.
