I anticipated Harris might respond during the debate by mentioning Gabbard’s prior association with Assad. I can see why she didn’t—and I can also see why doing it on cable news is to her advantage. But she will have to devise a more effective response to what Gabbard mentioned.https://twitter.com/CNN/status/1156785306382864384 …

This is @TulsiGabbard responding when Anderson Cooper brought up the Harris rebuke about Assad. She defends meeting with him, but watch how she reacts when Cooper asks her whether she considers Assad a “torturer or a murderer.” Her answer is disqualifying. https://twitter.com/joshscampbell/status/1156788268949594112/video/1 …

Easy answer would be “yes, Assad is a terrible dictator, but there are lots of them in the world and we have to be realistic about our ability to change things in far off distant nations we do not fully understand, you can often make a bad situation worse”

I am sick of America going to war. America itself as a government and military force has behaved very much like a terrorist at times. It’s shameful but it’s true.

Suppose she got elected and Assad was still in power and US was trying to get somewhere with him, as we are doing in N Korea, Saudi, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc The new litmus test is going to be willingness to call out the murderers?

The evil of Assad is not complicated. He slaughtered tens of thousands of his own citizens and used chemical wealons against them.
