MPs, especially female, are now in fear of their lives to vote against a deal. This is outrageous. Parliament is now threatened by terror activity. Is there any way that a vote on a deal, whenever it comes, can be done in secret? Constitutional lawyers?

The decision to take the whip from those Tory 21 MPs really doesn't look too smart now ... If it is in prospect the restore the whip, I imagine that some, at least, will decline.

However, in all those cases protestors resorted to the tactic because they did not have the right to vote or were otherwise disenfranchised. By contrast, Monbiot and other climate protestors do have the right to vote

In the article, Monbiot gives the following examples of where the tactic has proved effective: "The suffragettes, the Indian salt marchers, the civil rights movement and the Polish and East German democracy movements"

Q: said you were too eager by far to get a deal at any cost. And the cost has been their support. You have the deal not the votes. Your predicament is no better than Theresa May’s. Are you making the same mistakes she did?

After 3 years, the UK government has negotiated a Brexit deal that: ▪️Ends frictionless trade ▪️Ends UK single market access and leaves us without free trade deals with 27 EU markets or anywhere else. ▪️Ends freedom of movement *This applies to Britain, but not Northern Ireland.

However it remains quite possible that there will be a transition period followed by no-deal followed by an FTA, if we think a likely timescale for agreement could be in the region of 5 years. Obviously this means continued uncertainty for business 11/

First and most importantly, Great Britain could face a no-deal Brexit in 14 months time. That's the length of the transition period given it hasn't been extended since the original deal failed. An extension of that is possible but of course not guaranteed 2/

A brilliantly plain and merciless point by : “The DUP, bizarrely, claim there has to be explicit consent from the people of Northern Ireland to stay inside parts of the EU. There was no consent from the people of Northern Ireland to leave the EU, in the first place.”

And from opposition source: Law states clearly that if PM doesn’t get a deal by Sat, then needs to ask for an ext. For Johnson to get his way, he’d have to convince EU not to accept or offer an extension.....

What will Corbyn do whipping arrangements on Sat? Two referendum vote Qs 1/ A confirmatory vote on Johnson’s deal 2/ A vote to support 2nd ref. Understand decision not taken. Waiting to see what the amendments are. I’d describe Corbyn’s recent remarks as a ‘holding statement’
