However, in all those cases protestors resorted to the tactic because they did not have the right to vote or were otherwise disenfranchised. By contrast, Monbiot and other climate protestors do have the right to vote

In the article, Monbiot gives the following examples of where the tactic has proved effective: "The suffragettes, the Indian salt marchers, the civil rights movement and the Polish and East German democracy movements"

First and most importantly, Great Britain could face a no-deal Brexit in 14 months time. That's the length of the transition period given it hasn't been extended since the original deal failed. An extension of that is possible but of course not guaranteed 2/
