    It is strange to turn on the TV and read the papers. I appreciate there are reporting restrictions et al. But I feel like I'm going mad. Politicians appear to have largely joined forces with the media to blame an alleged terrorist murder on people who use the internet.

    One memory of Sir David that just comes to mind. I saw him canvassing a nearby road and a resident, completely unprompted, pointed to him and said to me, 'Whatever you think, that man is a good constituency MP'. Amess beamed.
