Wow! Was it hard to get a job as a designer at gamefreak? :O do they employ many foreigners?
I was Art Director on Pokemon Trozei and Pokemon Battle Revolution before I joined Game Freak, I think Sugimori san liked what I’d done. There’s a Canadian dude at GF too. We mostly talk Netflix recommendations.

Woah, you were the art director for Battle Revolution? Out of curiosity, did you work on that tech demo for it that was shown in 2006? It was a double battle between Pikachu/Groudon and Deoxys/Wailord iirc.

Hey, yes I was, and yeah I directed that tech demo. The artists had some spare time and we wanted to make a cool pre-rendered movie as a concept piece to aim for...it wasn’t actually intended to be shown publicly!

Please tell Sugimori to leave Bulba line to you to draw. He said he can't draw Venusaur well and he always make it worse in every gen because of that. Perhaps you can do a better job than him considering you are pretty good at complex designs!
